engine identification - Tue, 16 Mar 2010 19:51:06 GMT
Is there a way to determine whether the engine is a 289, 302, or 351W just by looking at it externally?  I know how to tell if a 351 is a windsor or a cleveland but cannot tell the difference just by opening the hood and looking if it is one of the fore mentioned.  I am assuming the 351 block is larger because of the special headers needed to install in an 65 or 66 stang for clearence, but if y...

5 Lug Wheels - Tue, 16 Mar 2010 18:48:37 GMT
I want to convert my 88 GT to 5 lug wheels, and have been told to go to junk yard and get rear axels and front hubs from a later model.  Does anyone know if this will work and what year would be the best to use?   Thanks  ???

Need water elbow - Tue, 16 Mar 2010 17:26:09 GMT
I have a Ford Motorsports manifold and the original style water elbow (where the heater hose hooks up, but not on the water pump) is too small.  I found a fitting that was the right size, an older timer told me it was 1/2" NPT.  I'm thinking the original was 3/8" NPT.  I found one at John's Mustang Parts for a 71-73 (I think) but it stood up about 3-4 inches and I'd rather find one in chrome an...

What plugs into here - Tue, 16 Mar 2010 00:28:22 GMT
just bought a '93 2.3 5speed FB with a blown engine, I had a 89 2.3 that I put into the vehicle. Some parts were taken off the car before I got it. . It looks like a computer plug and has the center bolt like ford computers have. It is in the engine compartment, on the passenger side wheel well, below the AC housing. It has 15 wires going into it and two rows of flat connectors. The standard co...

Right now I am having problems with my car... Right now i can not go over 3500 rpms... When i reach that it starts to tach out... I know some of these are smog codes and i am running long tube headers but for the others, what are the specifics ...

1965 289 2 barrel flooding all the time - Mon, 15 Mar 2010 17:34:55 GMT
I've got a problem with the carburetor on my car...  Both venturi assemblies drip fuel the whole time the engine is running - the right side more than the left.  It is making the engine run way too rich.

I took off the venturi assembly and found that the rods are in nice and tight and the machined holes are clear.  The rod and ball are in position at the bottom of the banjo bolt holding the ven...

New Member Intro - Mon, 15 Mar 2010 17:00:49 GMT
Hello all,

I thought I was a member of almost every Mustang forum out there, then I stumble across this one.  I'm sure I'll run to some from other forums.  The first name that hit me was Soaring, who used to be a moderator on one of the other forums.

Anyway, I have a '66 coupe.  It started life as a secretary's car for sure, it had a Sprint 200 and auto, power nothing.  It actually did run when...

recanvas/vinyl 72 mustang top - Mon, 15 Mar 2010 03:26:42 GMT
Hey all I'm pretty new with this classic car recovery world, my Dad has a 72 convertible that he wants to give to me if I can get the car safetied.  It currently will not pass safety because the trunk bed has almost completely rusted out; there is a metal shop in my town though that can take care of cutting the piece though.

My major problem is not with the safety though, its with the convertib...

Well I joined this forum not too long, right before I bought a "new to me" used 92 5.0.  Happy as ever to have a hot rod again... Knowing that this was bought as a rolling project, I had many plans for paint and interior so fourth and so on.

45th Mustang Anniversary - Wed, 10 Mar 2010 03:41:34 GMT
Heard on the radio that today was the 45th anniversary of the first Mustang!  Anyone out there able to verify this fact as I also heard that the first one was not actually for sale until later in the year.  I'm sure somebody has the actual dates that can verify or challenge the information.
