The New 2010 Ferrari F1 Racer – The F10
 2010 Ferrari F1 Racer – The F10

Ferrari became the first team to launch its 2010 car, unveiling its new F10 challenger in Maranello.

The car was due to get its first run on Ferrari’s Fiorano test track the same afternoon, but this was called off due to the track being covered in ice. After a lacklustre performance last year, which saw the team score just one victory, it decided to scrap the development of its 2009 car mid-season and focus on the F10.

Technical director Aldo Costa said the new car has been designed from scratch around the double diffuser at the rear of the car, which was covered during the launch, and the larger fuel tank necessary under the refuelling ban. The championship hopes of Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso will rest on the design and team boss Stefano Domenicali is hoping the F10 will be able to deliver.

Ferrari 458 Italia

Ferrari 458 Italia The 458 Italia is the latest incarnation of the mid-rear engined berlinetta and will be unveiled at the next Frankfurt Motor Show.Ferrari 458 Italia, which is a massive leap forward from the company’s previous midrear engined sports cars. The new model is a synthesis of style, creative flair, passion and cutting-edge technology, characteristics for which Italy as a nation is well-known. For this reason Ferrari chose to add the name of its homeland to the traditional figure representing the displacement and number of cylinders. The Ferrari 458 Italia is a completely new car from every point of view: engine, design, aerodynamics, handling, instrumentation and ergonomics, just to name a few.

Ferrari 458 Italia

Ferrari 458 Italia A two-seater berlinetta, the Ferrari 458 Italia, as is now traditional for all Ferrari’s roadgoing cars, benefits hugely from the company’s Formula 1 experience. This is particularly evident in the speed and precision with which the car responds to driver inputs and in the attention focused on reducing internal friction in the engine for lower fuel consumption than the F430, despite the fact that both overall displacement and power have increased.

Ferrari 458 Italia

Ferrari 458 Italia The Ferrari 458 Italia’s Pininfarina design provides further evidence of the complete departure from the past that this new car hails. The Ferrari 458 Italia has a compact, aerodynamic shape, underscoring the concepts of simplicity, efficiency and lightness that inspired the project.

Ferrari 458 Italia

Ferrari 458 Italia The new 4499 cc V8 is the first Ferrari direct injection engine to be mid-rear mounted. It has a very low piston compression height typical of racing engines which contributed to achieving its compression ratio of 12.5:1. Equipped with the traditional flat-plane crankshaft, the engine delivers 570 CV at 9000 rpm and, with an outstanding power output of 127 CV/litre, sets a new benchmark not only for the whole Ferrari range and the history of company, but also for the entire market segment.Maximum torque is 540 Nm at 6000 rpm, over 80 per cent of which is available from 3250 rpm. Specific torque is a record 120 Nm/litre. However, what is truly extraordinary is the amount of torque available while still maintaining high levels of power at low revs. The car’s soundtrack is also typical Ferrari, with an exciting, powerful growl emerging from the engine before it channels through to the exhaust’s three rear tailpipes. The 458 Italia is equipped with the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission which increases performance whilst providing very smooth shifts even at full throttle. The engineers have developed specific, sportier gear ratios to match the power and torque curves of the new V8, guaranteeing high torque even at lower engine speeds and allowing the car to reach its maximum speed in top gear. This new Ferrari is also a major leap forward when it comes to cutting emissions. Despite the fact that the new engine is significantly more powerful than the V8s that preceded it, the Ferrari 458 Italia produces just 320 g/km of CO2 and fuel consumption is 13.7 l/100 km (combined cycle), the best in the entire segment.

Upcoming Ferrari supercars based on FXX and Millechili concept

A second supercar could appear based on the FXX development program, we think it far more likely that one vehicle will prevail, borrowing on themes and components from both the Millechili and the FXX test-bed.With the Enzo now out of production, and no mega-super-car in the Ferrari stable, the prancing stallion brand believes the Millechili concept, first revealed at the automaker’s 60th anniversary extravaganza, to move from the realm of conceptual toilet paper tubes to production.

Ferrari F1 F60

For the first time in a very long time, the Formula One car you see here does not see things, such as the exit, whether you can still tell, and a Formula One car, but much has changed. Technical provisions that have been shaken up a little to promote competition and overtaking, rear wing is now smaller in other people's front wing is now a more broadly. Say hello to the 2009 Scuderia Ferrari Championship contender - the F60.

The most changes have been made to Aerodynamic formula, the front wing dictated a larger and more narrow aerofoila back. F1 has also been moved back to slick tires, while the more efficient bodywork Ferrari has installed a new Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS), which was developed in conjunction with Magneti-Marelli, together with new carbon-encased seven-speed sequential gearbox with limited slip differential.

Ferrari has chosen to call this F60, eschewing a unique numbering system that will be labeled F2009 at this time to emphasize the fact that this will be a 60. Formula One season - in which Ferrari is the only team to compete in each one. Due to weather conditions, the official opening of the F60 life has been moved from the company at the Fiorano test track its Mugello circuit, where Felipe Massa will test drive for the first time. Check it out for yourself in the gallery below, and see all the details in ferrariworld.com

Ferrari V4 superbike concept

This may not be the first effort at creating a Ferrari motorcycle, but it may very well be the best. Alfredo "Dino" Ferrari, the departed son of company founder Enzo, was said to have raced specially-prepared motorcycles in the 1950s. In the 1970s, Kay Engineering crafted a racing bike, now said to be worth half a million dollars, with full factory backing to honor Enzo Ferrari. In the '80s, legendary motorcycle designer Arlen Ness styled a one-off chopper on the Testarossa, while some guy named George crafted a pair of Ferrari-powered superbikes. Last year someone built a custom Scuderia Ferrari chopper for the retiring Michael Schumacher (who has since been trying his hand at motorbike racing), and earlier this year a collector crafted a model of what a Ferrari sportbike could look like. We're sure some more will be brought to our attention in the comments below, but while some of these creations have been more convincing than others, this one has to be the slickest.

This is what Ferrari convertible drivers have been waiting for! The engineers at sports car specialist HAMANN have designed an extensive aerodynamics package for the Ferrari F430 Spider, which takes elements from motor racing while at the same time expressing sheer understatement. In the development phase, this aspect was equally as important as optimizing the weight and performance. At the front end, the innovatively designed front spoiler lends the HAMANN F430 Spider a striking, individual look and minimizes the lift on the front axle. The broad side wings lend this Italian stallion a broader and chunkier look. In particular, they underscore the dynamic lines of the basic model. At the read end, the newly designed rear diffuser catches the eye and the rear wing spoiler generates greater downforce on the rear axle. HAMANN air dams for the downforce generating Venturi tunnel boost the effect. HAMANN aerodynamic components are available in fiberglass or (and with this HAMANN demonstrates its close affiliation with motor racing) in light-weight Carbon-Kevlar.

As one of the most skilled racers of modern times, it\'s no wonder Ferrari enlists one of its most valued members, seven time Formula One World Champion, Michael Schumacher, to helps put the final touches on the testing process of the brand new Ferrari California. Involved with recent Ferrari models like the Enzo and 599 GTB, Schumacher has become a permanent fixture as a Ferrari test driver on and off the track. Currently, Schumacher is completing the track and road development stages of the Ferrari California at Ferrari\'s Fiorano circuit, however, he\'s not just fashionably late.

Schumacher Completes Ferrari California Development Testing

“I have to say that, as with the 430 Scuderia, participating in the project since the very beginning has been really fascinating and great fun,” commented Schumacher at the end of a test session at the Fiorano circuit. “Although the cars are very different, they both offer absolutely unique driving pleasurebecause of the inherently sporty character of all of the cars that come out of Maranello. The 430 Scuderia is, of course, a more extreme model with a focus on absolutely cutting-edge performance. However, although the Ferrari California is very much a Grand Tourer in terms of its usability and high level of interior comfort, it is still surprisingly sporty and fun to drive under any kind of conditions.”

Schumacher Completes Ferrari California Development Testing

Schumacher also recently addressed the Ferrari dealer convention in Maranello and explained the differences between the two 8-cylinders: “They were designed to meet different requirements: the 430 Scuderia is aimed at drivers who want the very essence of a Ferrari and will get it out on the track as often as they can. “The Ferrari California, on the other hand, is designed for everyday use and for weekends away whilst still guaranteeing all of the emotional impact that only an authentic Ferrari can deliver.” With Schumacher’s contribution in optimising performance parameters of the Ferrari California, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under 4 seconds. The California makes its public debut on October 2 at the Paris International Motor Show.

Ferrari and HAMANN - a combination to set the pulse racing of all fans of Italian sports cars. The vehicle tuning specialist from Laupheim, Germany, has various new details and a power boost up its sleeve for the latest model from the Maranello stable. The power is produced by fitting an HAMANN high-performance sports header (export only), including racing catalytic converters, to generate an extra 39 kW/53 bhp. This takes the peak power output of this 6 l V12 engine, already familiar to us from the Ferrari Enzo, up to a majestic 673 bhp. You will rarely encounter more power than this on the open road. As a result, HAMANN has reduced the power-to-weight ratio from 2.5 to 2.3 kg per bhp. To ensure that everyone knows that the King of the Road is about to arrive, HAMANN fits a sports rear muffler (export only) with 90 mm tailpipes both right and left.

Hamann Ferrari 360 Modena

HAMANN decided to equip the rear end of this Italian muscle car with a three-piece diffuser that matches the rest of the technology. In conjunction with the rear wing, and true to the principle of "a beautiful rear can also endear", the HAMANN aerodynamics tuning suite shows its best side.

Hamann Ferrari 360 Modena

And of course HAMANN will gladly customize any 360 Modena to suit a customer's own individual needs. Extravagant leather upholsteries in various colors are available, as are extensive multimedia conversions featuring a DVD player, TV reception and a PlayStation. Although sporting quite an ordinary design, Ferrari California seems to be a step forward for the company. For the first time, a Ferrari is fitted with a folding metal hardtop, a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission you won't even notice shifting gears, and a multi-link rear suspension. Independent testing of the car is still months away but it has a good chance to become a GT, which is both comfortable and fun to drive.

Husmen 699 GTO: Design Study

By taking inspiration from past Ferraris – 250 GTO, 250 TR, P4, 599 GTB Fiorano and Alfa Romeo’s 8C Competizione, Emre Husmen (Transportation Design Student at IED - Turin) has designed the new 699 GTO.

husmen-699.jpg

According to Husmen, the 699 GTO is same to Ferrari’s 599 but it would be 200 kg lighter thanks to its Carbon Fiber Body and a Twin Supercharged V8 powered by biofuel.

The 699 GTO would come with an adjustable Hydraulic Suspension System and Rear Camera. These features will help to protect it from steep driveways or tricky reverse parking maneuvers.

Son Crashes Dads Ferrari 360 CS - 1 Of Only 16 In Aussie & NZ
How many times have you called your dad and told him you just crashed his car? Chances are he won’t even bother asking how you are and will just go on to screaming obscenities “you stupid dumb f***, I should have worn a condom, @#$&^@$!!!!”. Trust me, I have heard plenty of that and all of us here at zth agreed that we have heard that everytime we accidentally got into an accident. But we got away with it, I’m not quite sure if I would be alive to write this if I crashed my dads Ferrari, if he had one that is.

Well thats exactly what happened to this dude in Australia, having introduced his dads Ferrari to a pole. Wait, squash that, he introduced his fathers Ferrari 360 Challenge Straddale to a pole, one of only 16 to have been imported into Australia and New Zealand. News crew filmed the unhurt driver as he called home to report the sad news after which he was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, we feel that he felt safer in the hospital than at home. We feel you dude, but hate the fact you crashed a Challenge Straddale, think you might want to relegate yourself to a Holden now.

Ferrari P4/5 by Pininfarina
Ferrari Pininfarina

The Ferrari P4/5 by Pininfarina debuted at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elégance. The car is a one-off commissioned by James Glickenhaus, the American collector with a yen for the legendary racing cars of the Sixties.

“This project – comments Andrea Pininfarina, Pininfarina S.p.A. Chairman and CEO - represents an exciting challenge, i.e. trying to meet the Customer’s requests in the best way possible without deteriorating the company’s approach based on stylishness and innovation”.

The car has been designed, engineered and built entirely by Pininfarina, bringing to life something that, just a few months earlier, was just a dream and creating a sort of symbiosis between the customer and Pininfarina along the path leading to definition of this astonishing model. Starting from a Ferrari Enzo, the aim was to produce a sole vehicle inspired by sport racing cars with extreme vocations: not just a show-car but a vehicle to be enjoyed on the road.

After freezing styling with various touch-ups to the initial sketches, the surfaces were defined using CAS modeling, then moving on to actual construction and assembly. More than 200 components were specifically developed through constant interaction between styling and design: from the bi¬xenon lighting clusters specifically designed with an innovative system of yellow and white leds to the alloy wheels – 20-inch aluminum – milled from the block up to and including the aluminum and special steel in-sight hinges.

The sleek lines of the vehicle, characterized by a soft muscular touch, took shape on the body – made entirely of carbon fiber. The tapered profile of the nose highlights both its aerodynamic function and the car’s new look; the central body is dominated by the single-shell windscreen, while the car is accessed via two butterfly type doors. The rear features powerful sides with the embedded teardrop type transparent rear window which also acts as engine cover and from which ceramic-coated exhaust tips peep out, as on racing cars of the Sixties. “The entire vehicle – stresses Ken Okuyama, Director of Pininfarina Styling – expresses elegance and fluidity with the clear-cut, uncluttered lines that are typical of Pininfarina’s style.

Considerable attention has been dedicated to aerodynamics with continuous testing at the Pininfarina Aerodynamic and Aero-acoustic Research Center of Grugliasco (Turin, Italy) in an effort to reach the highest levels of performance combined with perfect functionality of all the appendices integrated in the body of the vehicle.

It is important to stress how re-styling was not restricted only to the outside of the car but continued also when defining the interior, completely redesigned according to the customer’s indications.

“Pininfarina has been a strong stakeholder on the automotive scene for many years, as confirmed by the five new productions launched between the end of 2005 and 2006: Alfa Romeo Spider, Mitsubishi Colt CZC and Ford Focus CC for which we also followed up design and development, and Alfa Romeo Brera and Volvo C70 which we also engineered. The Ferrari P4/5 by Pininfarina and the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti “K” by Pininfarina, built for Mr. Kalikow and presented in April at Villa d’Este Concours d’Elegance give us a chance to demonstrate our excellent creativity, making our know-how available to special customers in order to provide a real personal experience that goes well beyond simply the possibility of designing their own car” concludes Andrea Pininfarina.

1947 Ferrari 125S designed by Enzo Ferrari

The Type 125 Sport was Enzo Ferrari's first race car, although we shouldn't name it as such without mentioning his earlier projects such as Scuderia Ferrari - a team of talent that brought Alfa Romeo to the top of Grand Prix - and Auto Avio-Construzioni (AAC), Enzo's immediate pre-war car.

As mentioned, Scuderia Ferrari was a team devoted to Alfa Romeo. They greatly assisted with the development of many cars including the legendary 2300 Monza and in many ways replaced the racing wing of Alfa Romeo. As early as 1933, these Scuderia Ferrari Alfas were the first to wear the prancing horse badge.

Just before the war in 1941, Ferrari left Alfa Romeo to start his own company. He set up shop in Maranello to manufacture the 815, a design by Alberto Massimino and Vittorio Bellantani that relied heavily on Fiat 1100 mechanics. Both of the produced cars retired at the 1940 Mille Miglia and only one currently exists.

During the wartime period, Ferrari's factory blossomed into a 160 man workforce that made components and reduction gears for the effort. After the war was over, Ferrari then had enough talented craftsmen and personal resources to manufacture his own cars.

Since enough time had passed since Ferrari signed his severance agreement with Alfa, the new car could finally bear his own name. It was conceived over two years from a clean sheet of paper and its design lent nothing from any other manufacturer. As a highlight, it would use a V12. Being somewhat of a rarity at the time, the V12 was inspired by Packard's unit and would garner necessary attention from customers.

The first car was largely designed by Gioachino Colombo and finished by Giuseppe Busso. It went on to provide a base for all of Ferrari's future road and racing success. Supported by a oval tubular frame from Gilco and a powered by a small displacement V12 that was ready for Voiturette racing, the very first Ferraris were only slight evolutions of the initial car which rolled out of the factory and debuted on May 11th at the Circuito di Piacenza.

This car, chassis 01C - Compeitizione or Corsa, often referred to as the Piacenza roadster - had an all-enveloping body and was driven by Franco Cortese to 6th place. It was called the 125 Sport, and was named after the 125cc unit displacement of a single cylinder. This was joined by a sister car 02C, which featured cycle fender bodywork and both were constantly updated to compete in Italian Championship events including the Rome GP, Circuito di Vercelli, Mille Miglia, Circuito di Parma, Firenze, and Circuito di Montenero at Livorno.

Beyond these initial two Ferraris, subsequent similar cars were made for the upcoming International Formula 2 regulations. The most immediate was chassis 002C, featuring a larger type 159 1908cc engine and distinctly upgraded body with detachable fenders. Raymond Sommer won the Turin Grand Prix in 002C which was Ferrari's first major victory. The same car was later bored out 1995cc to take full advantage of the two liter limit and became the final configuration for Ferrari's first run of production cars, the semi-grand prix 166 Spider Corsa.

The first batch of cars used a chassis designed by Gilco and had pickup points for hydraulic shock absorbers, had their rear sawy bar run through the chassis and a hole for start cart. Later chassis used a revised central cross member that was used up until 1951.

The current whereabouts of chassis 01C and 02C have always been a entertaining point of conjecture. It's now largely agreed that 01C was fitted with a larger type 166 engine, an updated body and restamped as 0010I. Similarly, 02C recieved the same treatment. Both cars show have traits of the early Gilco chassis and match up with 1946/47 drawings.

Both the fact that 0010I and 0020I have early design features are key points in the debate. This is compounded by the fact that Ferrari was very much trying to make money in these early periods, and couldn't afford to scrap a very usable and potent chassis.

In this guise, it sold to Dudley Folland, but only after a large factory campaign that included a drive by Nuvolari in the 1948 Mille Miglia. The Ferrari factory largely agrees with this theory, and their new Classiche program built a replica Piacenza roadster body for 0010I. In this configuration, 01C/010I debuted at 2006 Pebble Beach Concours as the very first Ferrari.

Chassis

01C/010I - Displayed at Pebble in 2006, this is believed to be some of the original parts from 01C with a body manufactured by Ferrari's own Classiche program in 2006 to resemble the Piacenza roadster that debuted as Ferrari's first road car. As the story goes:

01C was raced and upgraded throughout the season in a campaign that included a drive by Nuvolari in the 1948 Mille Miglia. After suffering a small crash with Ferdinando Righetti before being restamped 0010I and sold to Dudley Folland as an upgraded Spider Corsa with its two liter engine. When the car reached Folland in England it was imported without body and a new cycle fender body was constructed. It was then restored in 1974 and made its way to Symbolic Motorcars where Bill Noon discovered that 010I in fact had been restamped from 01C by filling in the 'C' and adding a crude 'I'. While convincing everyone of this fact has been tough, many Ferrari Historians agree, although there is no proof on what the original 01C chassis looked like, or what changes happened when the car was restamped.

After comparing the chassis with early Gilco drawings Ferrari was convinced enough to manufacture a Piacenza roadster body for 0010I. The official restoration made its debut at the 2006 Pebble Beach concours.

02C - Debuting as a narrow cigar body, 02C was eventually rebodied along similar lines to the Piacenza roadster body. The engine changed from type 125 to 159 and it was later changed to full 166 Spider Corsa specification. There is speculation that it was restamped to 0020I.

2005 Hamann Ferrari F430

2005 Hamann Ferrari F430

The Ferrari F430 already is a brilliant, eye-catching vehicle. The “look“ as well as engineering technology presents many similarities to motor sports racing. In the latter instance, most vehicles here feature a catchy paint finish in “warrior look”. Hamann Motorsport now offers the mid-engine Ferrari a special outstanding design that equally provides a racing car look standing out from the crowd.

Through new motronic programming including a new rear silencer plus a sporty high-performance header and sport steel catalyst, the F430 in Hamann “Black Miracle” style has a performance increase of 50 bhp which is naturally a plus for vehicle performance.

Even more driving pleasure is promised with a specially designed set of suspension springs. Through the Hamann springs, not only does the F430 lurk lower to the ground, it also moves noticeably with more agility.

Save Big Money On Gas : new ferrari hybrid auto car 2008
Save Big Money On Gas
by kc govens
How To Save Gas Money By Running Your Car or Truck On Water This Article looks at the claims of running your car on 100% water and tells you if it's really possible or not. When you look closely at such 100% water driven technology, one ends up spending even more than using the usual fuel for powering vehicles. So, the method I recommend for powering your car with water that will save you cost of fuel is to make your own low-cost hybrid car that will run on water and gas, thereby saving you huge costs you would have spent using only gas. In other words - Hydrogen-On-Demand system where you run your car on Hydrogen WHEN you need it! Note that I am not saying you should build a car from scratch that will run on water. Not at all.

This instead is about constructing simple devices that will enable your car to run on water as well as gas. You don't have to alter your car make-up or get a new car. The technology can work with almost any car or truck. In simple words, this technology involves putting together home-made devices that use a little electricity out of your car's battery to separate water into a gas called HHO (2 Hydrogen + 1 Oxygen). HHO, also known as Hydrogen*Oxygen or Hydroxy, burns beautifully and by so doing provides TONS of energy. And the most remarkable beauty is that this pound for pound HHO gas is even much more potent than gasoline. In fact 3 times more potent than gasoline. By using such cars you effectively save money that would have been spent on fuel for your car. It is estimated that this could save you as much as $897.40 per year.

If you are two, three or four drivers in the family, this yearly savings increases dramatically. And what if you have a fleet of 50 drivers in your company? Then your yearly savings will multiply to $44,870. First things first... this isn't about running your car on 100% water. Of course there are information available about running your car on 100% water but I don't recommend them because they are not only complicated but seriously expensive and completely unpredictable.
